A New Year

We're all happy to see the demise of 2008. Its been a rough year to say the least and we are ready 2009!
As mentioned before Ivy celebrated the new year with the sounds of Unfinished Business at their New Years Eve jam.  It was a great night, though it started out a little rough.  As soon as the band started playing and people started dancing, Ivy was overcome with emotions.  I think it was a mixture, part sadness at everything 2008 represents for her, part joy at just being back to enjoy something familiar.

But not too shortly thereafter, she was out on the dance floor, dancing for four or five songs at a time before needing a rest.  And though she still needs help from us with balance, she was carrying her own weight the whole time, and made it all the way through the stroke of midnight!

The guys from Unfinished Business were very cool and supportive, and mentioned during their set that she had been there last year as the youngest in attendance, and though facing some difficult challenges was back again this year.  They then played the Beatles tune "Get Back" in her honor.  We can't say enough about how much they've done for us.  Thanks guys!  They even gave Ivy a really nice tambourine for therapy!
