Optimistic

After some deliberation, and waiting, and test after test after test, cardiology believes that the bacteria colonized in Ivy's heart is receding. They are optimistic that they will be able to remove the infected pacemaker by the end of next week without any open heart surgery business. It may not be definitive news, but it's good news none the less! Laying in a hospital bed for weeks on end has to be one of the most grueling forms of torture there is, and Ivy is hanging in there like a champ. Finally we can see a little light at the end of this tunnel, and the possibility of no open heart surgery is always a nice bit of news.
Melinda also wanted me to mention that she's still singing.

Ivy,
You continue to be a miracle in the face of all that is going on. We send you a big hug...no, lots of big hugs and you are in our thought and prayers! See you soon!
Love,
Candy and Dick
